NGSO 2019
NGSO 2019: September 15th-21st
Every year, the Graduate Life Office works with student volunteers to coordinate the New Graduate Student Orientation, or NGSO. In hopes to orient Stanford's new graduate students to the campus and ease their transitions here, it occurs the week prior to the start of classes. The programs are open to all incoming graduate students, both new and transfer students. Through NGSO, we hope to connect students from across academic departments. The goal is to inform and and connect our new graduate students to the Graduate Life Office and other resources they have access to, including information on local and student life as well as interdisciplinary and academic life in order to help build their toolboxes for a successful graduate career here at Stanford University.
NEW GRADS WELCOME! PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE WEEK INCLUDE GRAD 101 SESSIONS, LIBRARY TOURS, BIKE REGISTRATIONS, OPEN HOUSES OF VARIOUS UNIVERSITY RESOURCES, GOALIE RESOURCE AND ACTIVITIES FAIR, AND A PRESIDENT'S RECEPTION.
ALL EVENTS ARE FREE!!

Graduate Student Information Center (GSIC)
The Graduate Life Office hosts the Graduate Student Information Center (GSIC) as a space where graduate students, whether new, transfer, or current, can come to get a host of information and meet other graduate students.
This year, the GSIC will begin Monday, September 9th and end on Friday, September 20th. It is located on the second floor of the Graduate Community Center (GCC) in the Bogota Room, Room #212. For questions or more information, visit our site here.
Graduate Orientation And Lunch Information Event (G.O.A.L.I.E.)
Every Fall, the Graduate Life Office hosts the Graduate Orientation And Lunch Information Event, or GOALIE. Each year over 1500 new and returning graduate students attend this event to receive information on resources available to graduate students. Participants include student affairs offices, central university offices, and graduate student groups.
This year GOALIE will occur on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 12pm - 2pm in Canfield Courtyard, in front of the Law School. Registration to participate in GOALIE begins in August for campus partners and registered student organizations.
