  • Havana Room, Graduate Community Center
  • RSVP: http://goo.gl/forms/MiINjeimeu

Regardless of what program we are in, at some point, we all have to the leave the warm cocoon of the Stanford Housing system, and strike out on our own in the competitive and complicated private rental market.  Do you know where and when to start looking?  Do you know your legal obligations and protections?  Can you spot a scam?  Do you know what you don’t know?  Who are your future housemates?

Upon popular request, the OCH CAs are presenting a repetition of this hugely popular information session.  We have invited representatives from the Legal Counseling Office and Stanford Housing to address the above topics and more.  Additionally, we provide an opportunity for you to sign up to and access a database that you can use to find suitable housemates.  Of course, this workshop will also be an opportunity for you to meet potential housemates in person.  Lunch will be provided.

If you have any questions related to the event, feel free to contact Wendy Ni at wwni@stanford.edu

We will start with getting food at Ray's Grill at 7 PM, and start the two hour long workshop at 8 PM.

2. Grad Student Open Mic

Here we go, another Grad Student Open Mic! And whoa, the day provides a natural theme: BAD LUCK BLUES. We're looking for songs, poems, stories, or whatever you have to share about unlucky times. If you want to perform but don't have something that fits the theme, you're more than welcome to join too, because darn it that's a kind of bad luck of its own.

Since it's the spring quarter, we'll be mixing it up, taking things outside to the Papua New Guinea Sculpture Garden (near Tressider Union) in a fully acoustic iteration of the open mic. Hopefully we'll be lucky enough to have good weather. Come for the snacks and drinks, stay for the terrible horrible no-good very bad luck. As usual, original material *strongly* encouraged!

3. Grad Trivia Night

Grad Trivia Night is monthly! Typically consisting of seven rounds of questions, including a music and video round, with prizes for the winner of each round. Team registration starts at 7:30pm, and questions start promptly at 8pm. Come early to get a drink on us! There were will a food special as well, usually $5 nachos and $5 burgers.
