1.     Stanford Graduate Summer Institute (SGSI) – Round 2 Deadline: June 11

Immersive, interdisciplinary, accelerated courses for Stanford graduate students. Course topics range from international negotiation to digital humanities, energy to leadership—and more! Courses run the week of Sep. 11* before Autumn Quarter (*course schedules vary). Round 2 deadline: Sun., June 11.

4.     Grad Gateway – For New Graduate Students

Know any new graduate students coming to Stanford? If so, direct them to the Gateway for New Graduate Students, jam-packed with resources and information to help new grad students transition to and settle in at Stanford.


5.     Caltrain Go Pass

Moving off campus? The 2017 Caltrain Go Pass is free for eligible, off-campus graduate students only. Go to the Pilot Go Pass website to: 1. Qualify, 2. Pick up, 3. Use. The 2017 Caltrain Go Pass is valid from Dec. 1, 2016 through Dec. 31, 2017.


6.     Academic Skills Coaching

Meet with an academic skills coach who will observe your strategies and techniques, suggest changes to your approach, and provide encouragement as you implement new ways of learning. Make an appointment online. Offered by the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (VPTL).


7.     Hume Center for Writing and Speaking: Resources for Graduate Students

Individual Consultations:

Working on a job letter or conference presentation? Have a big interview coming up? Stuck on a dissertation chapter? The Hume Center offers FREE writing and speaking support for grad students!


Tutoring Hours:

Sun., 1-7:30 PM;

Mon.-Wed. 10 AM – 8:30 PM;

Thurs. 10 AM – 7:30 PM;

Fri. 10 AM – 4:30 PM.


(Please note that tutoring for Spring quarter will end June 14th. Please check the website for summer hours.)


Dissertation Boot Camp:

Dissertation Boot Camp offers graduate students a focused 2-week opportunity to make serious progress on your dissertation or other writing project.


Summer Camp 1

Hi all,

Some of your fellow students have been working hard to become better at public speaking, and they have prepared some amazing end - of year presentations.
Now it's your turn to come and spook them out during the presentation session!

Actually, the presentations have always been a great opportunity to learn more about the passions and stories of other students. Who knows what you might learn this time!

Refreshments ad drinks will be served at the end of the presentations

2.   Pure Barre Class

GSPB is hosting a private pure barre class! Pure Barre uses ballet fundamentals to do a total body workout! Wear yoga clothes and socks.


3.   Ride the Steam Train!

Come travel over narrow gauge track on a restored vintage train to the top of the Bear Mountain in Santa Cruz forest with us on Saturday, June 10th to celebrate the end of the quarter! Spend half a day with us in the redwoods, and try your luck to cover your student loans and the $15 co-pay with some gold panning!
